Whats up with the crazy blog name?

The name of this blog comes from a re- occurring dream that I have. When I get a vertigo attack while sleeping I often have a vivid dream of riding a merry-go-round. And not the pretty horses on the beach kind, but the late at night, all alone in the dark, something scary is riding behind you but you can only glimpse it type merry-go-round. And much like that dream – my life is spinning around me with no way to get off the ride. At some point I decided that I was not going to let that stop me. This blog is about my journey with vertigo – how I live and laugh and love all the while spinning. My goal is for it to be informative but also quirky and a bit of fun.

Finishing the dizzy dash!
Life is wicked good!

So who am I?
My name is Sharyn and I am dizzy most of the time. I am also a mostly optimistic, glass half full , life’s too good not to enjoy it 53-year-old woman. People say I am quirky but I think they just mean I’m a tad ( or a touch) crazy in the fun way people are – really. I live in Massachusetts so I have a Boston accent and love most sports. I spend time with my old man Ian, our furry princess dog Amber and three crazy cats- Pumpkin, Bella and Bob. I am a sci-fi geek, collect exercise video’s for a hobby and like to quote TV shows in real life experiences way more than I should. I hope one day to own my own waterfall. Now for the disclaimer (I will disclaim a lot – so be ready!)To really (badly) paraphrase Star Trek TOS -” Damn it Jim, I’m a dizzy broad not a doctor, nutritionist, personal trainer or therapist”. And while everyone’s vertigo is different and unique I hope something that I share will help someone else find their way off the ride. If not that, at least find a place where they are comfortable with where they are going. The information provided is what works for me and I hope you will find something good in it too.
Hope to see you soon!
